I Hear America Singing.

The rich sing of fame and fortune,
Living their lives without a care,
While people wait on them hand and foot.
Collecting money that they don’t need,
Always spending this money on useless things.

I can here the middle class family singing for more and more,
Wanting more and more.
Wanting to be like the rich and drive an expensive car,
Complaining about things that don’t matter.

I can hear the lower class, the workers sing of the necessities of life.
They are singing of education and the hope that their children will have a better life than they did.
Always worrying about the future and what tomorrow will bring.

Yes, I can hear America singing,
And what I hear isn’t as beautiful as it could be.
